One in a million...

My good friend Pete is a terrific chap and many of you will know him well. Some of you from college, some from town and many as the wonderful host of the fantastic Riverside Party of '05, '06,'07, '08 and '09.

This year however he has spent much of 2011 in Brighton Royal Hospital after being diagnosed with Good Pasture's Syndrome (the doctor told him there are only 50 or 60 cases a year, thus the one in a million). It's a nasty little bugger that has attacked his lungs and kidneys.

Being such a good natured and chirpy fellow he's found the whole experience fascinating and has been compelled to write a blog about it.

My first bit of after work MINI mending

Taking advantage of the lack of glass I finally get around to setting
my speakers into the parcel shelf. Something I've been meaning to do
since Mel got me my car stereo for my 18th! Thank you Mel, I think you
will agree they look much nicer now.

On my way home...

...and it's actually still daytime!! I may even get half an hour to
work on the car!

Mini busy

Another morning with the Mini. Primed the wheel arches and boot hinges
and fitted the over riders to the new rear bumper.
Packed up now, to be continued after pub lunch!

I've been expecting you... sort of...

How many balls?

If you had two tubes of different diameters, one inside another, and
you wanted to fill the void with BB pellets, how many do you need to
buy?

Charlie got caught in the rain...

... Although I was franticly packing away tools I did have time to
stop and take a picture of how nicely the water beads up on the new
paint.
(The random apple logo is the reflection of the light opposite in the
shiny apple logo on the back on my phone, just so you know.)

Electrical gremlins...

With the fuel tank back in I thought I would try my luck and see if
she would start... No.
No spark. Lots of fiddling about but got bored and went back to
bolting on shiny bits.

Oops...

As I was filling her back up I spilled a bit of fuel on my tail lights
and they burst into lots of little pieces... I think I'll send them
back.

Fuel tank back in...

... it had about 3 gallons still in it. Seeing as I will have paid
about a pound per litre for it I'm thinking of giving it to a local
museum.

New bumpers...

Another productive day...

Door mirrors, black roof trim, front indicators, grille, surround,
bonnet back on, rally lamps and brackets and bonnet straps!! Good day

Good days work

New arial, headlining and tail lights, although the brake and reverse
lights don't seem to be working... Something for tomorrow I think

Headlining...

Horrible Horrible Horrible Horrible job, not doing a wonderful job as
the replacement isn't very good and it's bloody hard work. Everything
is covered in contact adhesive. My hand, my clothes, my shiny new
paint and my patients.

Boxes!!!

CTU?

Something a little different this week. One of our clients wants a
24/Matrix send up so the studio is looking very 'reinforced' lately.
Lighting tests today and filming on Thursday. Will keep you posted.
